The Ukrainian President's Office confirmed reports of a strike by the Russian occupation army using an Iskander ballistic missile on the Cabinet of Ministers building on the night of September 7.

This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, following a conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The official noted that he had conveyed information about further Russian strikes, in particular, on the Cabinet of Ministers building.

"I informed you about the constant Russian strikes, which target our cities and residential buildings with drones and missiles. They are killing civilians and children and destroying our infrastructure. For the first time, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian government building โ€“ the strike was carried out with an Iskander ballistic missile," the statement reads.

He also reported that the parties discussed security guarantees, defense support for Ukraine, and tightening sanctions against Russia, as well as coordination with partners.

"Putin understands only force; he doesn't want to end the war; we must maintain pressure on Russia. Sustainable peace is our goal, which we must achieve. I thanked President Donald Trump for his leadership in ending Russia's war against Ukraine and the entire American people for their support and assistance. As a reminder, on the night of September 7, Russian forces launched 818 air strikes against Ukraine. Specifically, in Kyiv's Svyatoshinsky district, a nine- and a 16-story building were hit. Three people were killed, including a mother and baby, and 18 others were injured. A four-story residential building was damaged in the Darnytsky district.

Reports also emerged that the government building was damaged. European Union Ambassador Katarina Mathernovรก showed the Russian Iskander ballistic missile that struck the Cabinet building.
