This was stated at a briefing at the Regional Environmental Commission by Damir AISHEV, a specialized environmental prosecutor for the Kostanay region. In August, the prosecutor's office opened a criminal case on the illegal extraction of sand from the riverbed, and the investigation is ongoing.
